The Inevitable Technology Tidal Wave…

The Inevitable Technology Tidal Wave…
The tidal wave is coming and the question is are you going to ride it?  There is nothing we can do to stop it.  Either we ride or…….
Why am I sounding so dramatic?  It’s because I have a book to recommend that is fascinating and provocative.  It is called The Inevitable: Understanding the 12 Technological Forces That Will Shape Our Future, and it identifies and describes the technological trends that are in motion in our world and how they will revolutionize the way we buy, sell, learn, and interact over the next 30 years.  The author, Kevin Kelly, has been called “the real-life most interesting man in the world”.  Read more about his amazing accomplishments here.
Kelley will make you see what is coming soon to our world.  He is optimistic as he illustrates the massive impact of changes including artificial intelligence in everything we buy, virtual reality in our homes, and the cloud-based economy.  The time I invested in reading The Inevitable is valuable because of the way that it made me think about my work and my life in relation to these transformational changes.  The decisions I have made as a result have changed my work and my personal life forever.
As advertised by the publisher, Kelly encourages us to understand and “embrace the coming wave of changes and to arrange our day-to-day relationships with technology in ways that bring forth maximum benefits. Kelly’s bright, hopeful book will be indispensable to anyone who seeks guidance on where their business, industry, or life is heading—what to invent, where to work, in what to invest, how to better reach customers, and what to begin to put into place—as this new world emerges.”
The tidal wave is coming. Are You Ready To Ride?

  • I thought you were going to write about Renewable Tidal Energy – my line of work! Well I love these kinds of books so will give it a go! Thanks Jordi!

  • I am going to watch Werner Herzog’s new documentary called Lo and Behold at the MFAH. I would imagine that he has a slightly more depressing view of the wave. I will have to give the book a read.

  • Thought-provoking! Thanks for the lead.
